Listening Session

Reducing Food Insecurity & Waste: Community Food Sharing with Freedge

Friday, November 13th at 8:00 pm EST

Duration: 60 minutes

About This Session:

Freedge is a sharing mechanism to help build stronger communities by aiming to reduce food insecurity and food waste. Ernst Bo, its Founder, is an Agronomist who is waking us through this huge problem that’s mounting as the economy tanks. He calls himself a Food Insecurity Community Organizer whose aim is to promote equal access to healthy food through the installation of community fridges (public refrigerators) that are used to share food and ideas at the neighborhood level. But this movement is so much more than that.

In this session, Ernst will share his insight on how we can all do our part to help feed our hungry neighbors in a way that is safe and legal for all. Come to this if you’re already a community organizer or a politician wanting to effect real change, or if you just want to make a difference and are interested in learning more about how community food sharing works.

Heads up: Boy on Girls' Hill...and he has *much* to teach!
